We know the feeling - tonight's the night of the big meeting / dance / dinner / etc., and you hate the way you look. Particularly, you'd do anything to look slimmer.
Fear not everyone. By learning a few simple tricks, you can make yourself look noticeably slimmer in minutes. No, this isn't some super weight-loss drug or anything like that (there's no time for that) - it's just some sensible dressing and clothing techniques that you can employ to make yourself appear slimmer (these work for both men and women).
#1 - Wear all Black (or another dark, solid color)
Wearing black (or a similarly dark color, like navy blue) not only makes you look awesome, it really does make you look slimmer. This is because black tends to hide the differences in the shape of your body - thus, black pants with a black top tends to become a fashionable sea of black, and doesn't call attention to the stomach or caboose!
#2 - Wear an accessory
A great accessory not only makes you feel like a million bucks, it also draws attention away from your less flattering parts. A hat or scarf is a great way to make a splash, and draw the eye. Or, for ladies, a great purse or even a great pair of shoes. For gentlemen, a pocket watch, or even a cane can make a wonderful statement (you don't "need" a cane to carry one - remember, in times past, all men carried walking sticks. We think it's a great look.)
#3 - Wear a tight undershirt, but then wear clothes that actually fit
This is actually a hard one for a lot of people, especially when trying to look slimmer. But wearing big, baggy clothes is not flattering. Nor is wearing tight clothes (except a tight undershirt, which can have a slimming effect). So for outerwear, just wear what fits. You'll be surprised at how much better you look with clothes that fit.
Now go get dressed and knock em' dead!
